To the north, next to the red buoy there is a mark on a rock (black – yellow), which must be rounded from the south. When approaching, it is recommended to keep to a course of 60°. The light positioned on the breakwater (Fl (3) R 3s 8m 4M) is visible after passing the described buoys. The sea depth in the marked channel is 4 m.

Cape St. Euphemia is a marked by a lighthouse (Fl 4s 19m 7M) which can be used as a way point (45°05,0’ N 13°38,0’E). ACI marina Rovinj can be approached between St. Katarina Island and the town harbor breakwater. At the head of the breakwater is a lighthouse (Fl R 3s 7m 3M). Between the lighthouse and St. Katarina Island there is a shoal marked by a yellow-black conical buoy that has to be rounded from north. If we approach the marina from the south, we should hold to the marina breakwater which on its end is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 5s 7m 5M).

Approach: The harbour is located in a natural bay between the peninsula and the breakwater, which provides excellent protection. The safe entrance to the harbour is between the breakwater head (an extension of Cape Kumpar) which is marked by a green lighthouse (Fl G 3s 9m 6M) and Cape Proština which has a red lighthouse (Fl R 3s 9m 5M). The exact position of the Kumpar lighthouse is 44°53.2’ N 13°47.7’ E. Then steer towards the southern cape of Andrija Islet, where there is a green lighthouse (Fl G 2s 7m 1M). The islet can be rounded from both the southern and northern sides, and the passage between it and Katarina Island is well marked for a night approach (sail between two pairs of red and green lighthouses). After the passage another lighthouse, on Uljanik Island (Fl G 5s 7m 3M), shows the way to ACI Marina Pula. On rounding that lighthouse the marina comes into view. Attention should be paid to several iron buoys anchored intermittently along the approach course to the marina. The speed limit in the harbour is 8 knots.

Approach: The marina is in the northwestern part of Medulin Bay, which opens up between Cape Kamenjak and Cape Marlera. Due to numerous reefs and shoals it is recommended to approach through the main channel, sailing east of the islet of Fenera (exact position 44°46.2’ N 13°57.2’ E), and then passing between the islands of Ceja and Bodulaš. As the sea is much shallower around Bodulaš Island, it is safer to sail closer to Ceja Island. When approaching at night, the course between the islands of Ceja and Bodulaš is marked by the lighthouse on Cape Munat (Fl W R 2s 9m 7/4M). Once deep inside the bay, steer toward the middle of the passage between Cape Munat and Cape Kašteja, and then toward the island of Pomerski Školjić, which should be rounded from the east. ACI Marina Pomer is sighted next. In daylight it is recognisable by a distinctive white crane.

ACI Marina Piškera

Address: Piškera, Kornati, office Obala sv. Ivana 47E, 22242 Jezera

Berths: 118 in the sea | 0 on the dry dock

Approach: The island of Piškera or Jadra is part of Kornati National Park. The National Park is usually entered from the north through the Proversa Mala and Proversa Vela straits, or from the south by sailing between Cape Opat and the island of Smokvica. When approaching from Proversa the course to ACI Marina Piškera leads through a series of channels between numerous islands and islets. The most interesting feature of the Kornati Islands are the famous sea cliffs stretching along the western sides of several islands, the most beautiful being those on Mana and Rašip islands. A bit further to the south is the island of Piškera. Just off the western coast of Piškera is the island of Panitula Vela which houses ACI Marina Piškera. In front of the entrance to the marina lie the island of Panitula Mala and Škanji Reefs. The approach from the north or west between Škanji Reefs and the southern cape of  Panitula Vela Island is safe, with the sea depth of 7 m. The approach to the marina from the northwest between the islands of Panitula Vela and Piškera is shallow and dangerous due to numerous reefs. The southern cape of Panitula Vela Island (43°45.4’ N 15°21.2’ E) can be used as a landmark. When approaching ACI Marina Piškera from Cape Opat the route is somewhat easier. The southern cape of the islet of Veseljuh (43° 45.8’ N 15°22.4’ E) can be used as a landmark, and behind it is the channel between the islands of Lavsa and Piškera. The marina is sighted immediately after passing through the channel.

Approach: The town of Jezera is situated in its namesake bay on the southeastern coast of the island of Murter. Approach is possible from either side of the island of Školjić. Sea depth is 7m off the northern coast of the island, and about 15 m off the southern coast. On approaching, a red lighthouse (Fl R 5s 7m 4M) on the head of ACI Marina Jezera’s breakwater serves as a landmark. As the marina itself is situated deep inside the Bay of Murter, the lighthouse on the island of Maslinjak (Fl G 3s 17m 3M) can also be used for orientation. The exact position of the lighthouse is 43°46.1’ N 15°41.0’ E. Between Maslinjak and Školjić lies the island of Hrbošnjak, which can be rounded from all sides. However, we recommend rounding it from the east, as the channel between Hrbošnjak and Murter is shallow. On entering the marina watch out for the numerous fishing boats.

Approach: The town of Vodice is easily identified by Okit  hill (133 m) topped by a small church, as well as by the town’s bell tower and the tall building of the Punta Hotel whose light is visible from afar at night. In addition, there is a tall stone monument in the shape of a torch north of the harbour entrance, the marina’s long breakwater made of stacked-up stones some 100 m east of the entrance to the harbour (which is also the entrance to the marina), and a light on the breakwater head – a red tower with a gallery (Fl R 5s 7m 3M). Southeast of the harbour light on the breakwater, at a distance of approximately 180 m, there is a shoal of about 1.3 m depth, marked by a light (Fl G 5s 5m 2M). The shoal can only be rounded from the right. When entering the port at night, watch out for the shoal – it is marked by the obscured sector of the Vodice harbour light.

It is also forbidden to anchor in any part of the port, except in emergencies. The port is entered through a wide passage marked by lights and day-time markings. When approaching the port the following landmarks can be used: the prominent bell tower of the Cathedral of St. Domnius; Cape Sustipan; and a stone monument to seafarers in the shape of a lighthouse, which is in fact a lighted stone obelisk (Fl(2) W 20s 54m 10M). On the port (left-hand) side stony Cape Sustipan there is a red tower with a red light (Fl R 6s 9m 5M), while on the starboard (right-hand) side of the entrance to the port, on the head of the main breakwater, there is a prominent green lighthouse (Fl G 6s 11m 10M), equipped with a fog signal and 30-second horn. When approaching ACI’s marina white rocks can be seen on the wooded peninsula of Sustipan, as can the inside breakwater at the eastern entrance to the marina, marked by a red tower with a column, gallery and light (Fl R 2s 6m 3M). The reception building, restaurants and workshops in the marina are also visible. When approaching the marina and the small ports to the west of it, steer closer to the head of the inside breakwater. As the area of the newly-built western waterfront has not been surveyed hydrographically, berthing there is forbidden, except when approaching the fuel station.

Approach: Vrboska is a town and harbour situated on the northern coast of the island of Hvar, at the end of a deep and narrow bay, so the marina provides good shelter from all winds. When approaching from the north, a good landmark is provided by the island of Zečevo, which has a lighthouse (Fl W 5s 11m 5M) the exact position of which is 43° 11.5’ N 16° 42.1’ E. To reach ACI Marina Vrboska the Glavica peninsula must be rounded. At night one should steer towards the red lighthouse marking the entrance to Jelsa (Fl R 3s 6m 5M). When the lighthouse on Cape Križ (Fl W 2s 5m 5M) comes into view, the lights of the town of Vrboska will also become visible; steer in that direction. • fuel station in the town port of Križna luka (2.5 nm)

Approach: The distance between the Palmižana marina on the island of Sv. Klement (in the Pakleni Islands) and the island of Hvar is 2.4 nautical miles. Although there is a chance of a tidal wave in case of heavy west or southwest winds, most of the time the cove provides safe shelter from the waves and wind. To the north, in front of the entrance to the marina, lies Baba Rock, marked with a black-and-red column with two spheres. It is only visible during low tide and at night is marked by lighthouse (Fl(2) W 10s 7m 4M) the exact position of which is 43° 10.1’ N 16° 23.8’ E. As the rock is wide, it is recommended to steer clear of it, especially on its northern side. The entrance to the marina is marked with an “ACI” signboard. When approaching from Cape Pelegrin, it is safe to steer toward Baba Rock, and when approaching from the direction of the town of Hvar the same landmark should be used, taking care, however, not to sail too close to the islet of Gojca. If approaching ACI Marina Palmižana from the south, the course leads between the islands of Borovac and Sv. Klement, where the sea is less than 5 m deep. This passage is not lighted

One needs to sail on the NE course from the entrance to the Slano harbor to reach the marina. The water depths in the marina are sufficient for safe sailing and are mostly between 10 and 35 meters. The water is only shallower near the shores (to a minimum of five meters).

One sails into the Koločepski channel, which is protected by a succession of Elaphite islands, through several passages. The first one from the west is Mali Vratnik between the peninsula Pelješac and the islet Olipa, followed by Veliki Vratnik, between Olipa and the island Jakljan and the Passage Harpoti, between the islands of Jakljan and Šipan. More to the east one can find the Doors of Lopud, between the islands of Šipan and Lopud, the Doors of Koločep, between Lopud and Koločep, and Velika Vrata (Big Doors), which represent the southernmost entrance to the channel.
